HOOP DREAMS on DVD? (1 Viewer)

I was going through Ebert's top movies of the 90's and HOOP DREAMS was at the top. So, I went to imdb to find out about it and it got me interested. However, it isnt on DVD as of yet. Any plans ya know of?

It is a pretty amazing movie. Probably the best documentary I've ever seen. The LD is full frame, I don't know how it was shot or matted in theaters.

Warner has the rights, it was discussed a couple of times in their chats. I remember some sort of problems with it (legal?) but nothing definite.

I thought it was New Line who has the rights.

They are still sitting on a few art-house faves: Short Cuts, Spanking the Monkey, Lovers of the Arctic Circle. For a company with such a small catalog, you'd think they would be releasing more of their wanted titles.

I think Brook is mistaken, as it was never mentioned or discussed, as far as I can tell, during any of the 3 Warner Bros chats here at the HTF.
New Line was asked about the title twice in June 2000 (http://www.hometheaterforum.com/files/newline.txt), and so it seems obvious they own it...
