Interesting, I was about to purchase the current release from Olive. I didn't know Olive could do a 4K scan and restoration, or is this effort being done by another entity that owns the film rights and assets!

It is a pricy disc compared to the current release from Olive. I would be surprised it's a UHD release, but that would justify this price.

Edit: I just found the thread on the Olive Signature edition releases. I see these are 4K scan releases with lots of extra supplemental material.

I have no issue with paying $40 for a 4K of "High Noon"; but under certain conditions.
It must be a true restoration and it must pass the HTF reviews.
Pre-Ordering from Olive isn't going to happen.
I will wait to see if they deliver the goods.
If all is fulfilled by Olive, then they will have my full support and an immediate purchase.

I understand your PQ point, but the fact remains the final retail price won't be $40.

Don't get me wrong, I am very excited by this offering of "High Noon"; and I am also rooting for Olive's success.

Is the transfer with this edition going to be any different (or differently presented) from the prior olive release?

"The Quiet Man" was an Olive offering that boasted a 4K restoration; but the restoration was incomplete.
If my memory serves...RAH cited that edition as having a "registration" issue.
It looked great and better than I've known, but I could see where it lacked.
So, once the Region-Free player gets into my life, I'll be re-purchasing "The Quiet Man" on BD from Masters of Cinema.
Therefore, despite Olive's promise of a 4K restoration on "High Noon", I will be standing by and waiting for the reviews.
