HDTV Resolution (1 Viewer)

I have the Zenith HD Directv receiver and can choose what resolution I want to set it at. My question is: Is it better to set it for whatever the station is transmitting, eg: if ABC was 1080i(i'm not sure), is it better to set it for the 1080i or can I leave it in the 720p resolution?
Any help would be appreciated.

I think that's the output resolution switch, so if your HDTV set can only handle 1080i, that's what you'd want the Zenith to be set to as well. If you had a set that could handle 720p, you could use that as well.

FYI: ABC's HDTV broadcast resolution is 720p.
