Hard Drive Error??? Pansonic DMR E-60S (1 Viewer)

I just put a DVD in my DVD recorder and it's reporting a Hard Drive Error and none of my discs will play. The recorder is functioning, but it won't read a disc, actually, it still reports an error when there is no disc in it and the unit is turned on. The front display says "HARD ERR"?

Any ideas? There's no support info on Panny's web site.

ARGH! I just pulled the player out of my shelving unit and plugged it in on the counter so I could listen to it better. It definitely is making some sort of noise when it spins up. It looks like it needs to hit the repair shop. :frowning:

Well, if anyone else is interested, I got instructions on how to reset the unit:

1. Unit power must be on, and unit must be in stop mode.
2. Press and hold [CH UP] and [CH DOWN] ON THE UNIT for
about five seconds.
The unit will turn off.
3. Press [ DVD POWER] to turn the unit on.


I am currently performing this and things seem to be working...(fingers crossed)
