green gun keeps changing ? (1 Viewer)

does anyone know why my tvs green gun keeps changing.the green goes real strong sometimes,then theres no green.this has happened on 2 sets now.they are older sets with adjustments done with a screwdriver.

If you jiggle the green screen pot with the screwdriver (don't turn it, just wiggle it back and forth), does the green cut in and out? If it is, the trimpot is worn out or dirty. If not, then there is a problem with the CRT or drive circuitry for the green gun.

What set do you have?

thanks ill try that.1 is electrohome about 12 yrs old and other is mitsubishi 12 yrs.

it worked thanks for the tip.i used air spray too clean it.....ive ruined electronics with wd40 before and made sure i didnt use it this time.
