Gauge Calculator anyone?

    Basically, I want to know what gauge is achieved by coupling 2 14 gauge wires together? or 2 12 gauge wires? or a 12 and a 14? ...............

    when you combine 2 wires of the same gauge you drop the effective gauge by 3....so 2 12s would give you 9 gauge....14 and a 12 would give you around 10 (too early for math)...

    or...you can do a gauge to millimeter conversion. then add the millimeters together to look for the closest gauge.
