Near the end of Fellowship of the Ring (thankfully on my second trip), right after Aragorn beheads you-know-who, an 8- or 9-year-old young girl in front jumped up and yelled out a big "YES!"

The entire audience laughed.

This is completly and totally off-topic but your post reminded me of the first time I saw LOTR in the theater. When Aragorn saves Boromir from the final arrow someone stood up and yelled, "Yeah! Kick his ass Aragorn!" and then when he finally beheads the orc the whole theater let out a gigantic sigh of relief and clapped, some stood and clapped. In short, the reason I see movies in theaters.
