I have two DVDs that will get played this weekend to celebrate the 4th:

1776
Yankee Doodle Dandy

Does anyone else have choices that they celebrate with?

Star Trek TNG's The High Ground always puts things in perspective for me. It's been a July 4 tradition since it came out on DVD in 2002.

I bought the box set of "The American Revolution" three years ago, and I sometimes spend some time with it around the 4th - but I don't think it is on DVD.

Fireworks in Blue Ridge are on Saturday night, so I'll probably watch Yankee Doodle Dandy, too.

I actually haven't watched my DVD yet, so I'm looking forward to it.

Perhaps before the movie, I'll watch some of the On The Front Lines cartoons.

I'm celebrating by watching 1776. Not that phony version of the film that got an "official" DVD release (which I will never watch) but the good cut of the film from the LD, which remains a cherished possession of mine (and thankfully transferred to DVD).

Jaws here as well. The epitome of the summer movie. Have to watch it today though, as was busy yesterday.

I'll second Born on the Fourth of July, one of my favorite films.

And for revolutionary spirit, I suppose you can't beat Star Wars (A New Hope), can you?
