dvd player for my 4805 (1 Viewer)

My not so old Denon 900 is acting up and the wife says get a new one! She is tired of the stops, pauses and starts from the 900. Looking at something in the $200-$300 range. HK 22, Denon 1910, Zenith 318? Do I really need HDMI? Can I, or will I be able to tell the difference between that and component? My 4805 gets used just for dvd viewing. The more I know, the more I know I don't know. Thanks for your help.
