I loved this show as a kid. No idea if I would now, but at only 27 episodes, I'd give it the old college try. Anyone else interested? Who do we need to hound to get this on DVD? Apparently, it ran on Fox Kids recently, if that's any help.

I would give my left nut for this!

Considering that Marvel Comics produced the show, and that it ran on Fox a few years ago as part of the Saban group of shows (since Saban had bought all things Marvel), then it makes sense that this property is now in Disney's hands (since Buena Vista bought all things Saban over a year ago).

The number to call is 1-800-72-DISNEY.

However, given the pattern of their Spider-Man, X-Men, Hulk, and Power Ranger releases, I expect they would lean toward best-of's and not "season sets". :frowning:

Cool, thanks for the link to that script! I just printed it out (44 pages), and will read it when I get some time.

Hey, guys. The Digital Bits lists something called "Scourge of Worlds: A Dungeon and Dragons Adventure" coming from Rhino in June. Could this have any connection to the '83 cartoon? I wish they did have the rights, as we just might get a box set from them a la Transformers.

Greg, no it doesn't.

Don't forget to ask for it in UNALTERED FORM. The Fox airings totally got rid of the opening music/narration

To answer Greg's question more specifically, the Scourge of Worlds release is a "Choose Your Own Adventure" multipath-type game, much like the Xena: Girls Just Want To Have Fun release that you can find around in some places.

It might be neat, but it's certainly not the cartoon we're asking about. Has nothing to do with it except for the name.

I would also love to buy this show - this was one of my favourite TV shows I watched after school when I was a kid. I especially remember one episode where they all got back to Earth, but they had to go back because they brought the bad guy with them. But, only 27 episodes - are you sure. I thought there was a lot more episodes than that.

Not sure at all, Simon. That's just a list I saw on epguides or somewhere. The first episode guide on the Misc. page on D&D's IMDb entry.

Thanks for clearing up the new release, folks. Too bad it's not better news. :frowning:

Well I checked it and I am surprised there are only 27 episodes - must have been a lot of repeats on TV when I was watching it. Who needs season box sets ? Release the lot in one box ?

Hell, I'd give Dave's left testicle, my car, all my porn, and a year's worth of wages to see this!!!

There were more great 80's animated shows besides just Transformers and Jem folks!
