That was an exceedingly kind thing of you to write about the film :)

Great review! It’s one thing to review an obviously good movie, but I think it almost takes more skill to fairly unpack a less successful attempt like this film.
Yes, and as a dyed-in-the-wool MGM musical fiend, my fingers ached to have to type those things. If I ever review Pagan Love Song or Panama Hattie, they'll be aching again.

There are instances of minor Technicolor misregistration throughout this transfer. Not egregious, though present. And honestly, a 2.5 for this is pretty charitable. It's more like a .5 with A+ talent both in front of and behind the camera, utterly squandered. Not a fan.

This may be the only Arthur Freed musical not featured in "That's Entertainment" I, II or III.
I'm going through the list in my mind, and I'm pretty sure you're right. Even Pagan Love Song and Bells Are Ringing got tiny little clips threaded in montages.
