I just saw a commercial that said the boxed set will be coming out Tuesday, which is the 15th but everywhere else I've seen it online says it comes out the 22. Did they run this commercial a week to early by mistake?

It's probably just a mistake, it DOES come out on the 22nd as far as I know, but I belive that Casino Royale comes out on the 15th.

Not to get too off topic, but wasn't there a Casino Royale exclusive of the '54 version coming out from Spy Guise? I pre-ordered it, but it doesn't say WHEN it's coming out, anybody know?

Whats the story on the box: Is this just reissues of the same Bond boxes wave 1-3 that were out before- or something different?

Same cover art, menus and supplements to my knowledge Vince, but all the subtitle issues some of the movies in the previous releases had will now be fixed.

Sweet- it looks like the Box is a different config than Box 1 available previously. I don't know how I feel about them waiting 1 year before releasing the next set...

PS: Dan, have reviews confirmed corrected discs? Has there been any word on the various other erros that plagued these sets?

Doesn't one of the originals have a menu error where highlighting a link to one documentary actually takes you to another one? I seem to recall that complaint.
In fairness I know of no reviews of the re-issues, but I recall most sites reporting confirmation from MGM that the subtitles errors would be fixed.

In my opinion, the Spy Guise folks never should have had any date range up there, from what I can tell talking to those guys. It still says "Late Summer" at their site, but I first talked to them back in the late spring/early summer, and they were already talking about "After the MGM version comes out", which we knew then was Oct. 15th.
They new that MGM would skunk them on having the Barry Nelson version in this box, but felt that their exclusive interview with Nelson, plus other extras, would make it appealing to the hard-core 007 fan. I agree. I also think it sounds a bit like the MSCL situation. But I don't have any money invested in it; just a few phone calls. :)
Still, I think this will come out soon and I look forward to giving it a look-over. I might call this guys in a few days and follow up; kinda see where they're at. If I get to it, I'll let you all know what's happening!

Does "fixed" subtitles mean that the soft player-generated subs will be there like they were supposed to be originally, or that the subs will be properly burned onto the print itself.

Also, "Thunderball" was the one with the menu error. It contains two brief documentaries, and the menu selections for them were reversed.

What I wanna know is if the 5.1 remixes for Dr No through Live and Let Die, currently being done by Mi-casa, are gonna feature on these disks or not - it seems kinda late in the day for them to make it on to these first discs...

...as it would mean re-authoring the discs from scratch, it would be a shame not to take advantage of fixing all these faults and making them all two discs sets as they are stuffed with features and the compression rate on most of them suffers as a result
