I just purchased the Hughes DirecTV with Tivo from DirecTV. It was installed last Thursday. I have noticed an annoying light static in the audio on my local channels. It does not seem to be present in any of ther other channels. Any ideas what could be causing this?

Only a few markets have direct fiber from the stations to the DirecTV uplink facility. Most markets have an analog to digital location. Your locals are picked up via an antenna, converted to digital and go over fiber to DirecTV's uplink facility. The static is probably being picked up by the antenna. Call your local station and complain. Their engineers will work with DirecTV's technical people to fix the problem. DirecTV's customer service is useless in this situation (and most others as well).
