Well I was trying to do an X-Men III review on the region 2 DVD having just seen the film tonight, but it would appear I’ve lost my super powers! Strange thou, but it had a great Dolby Digital Surround-EX mix that played superbly via the JBL THX sound system.

I’ll have to give this a second viewing later in the day at 0db THX reference level.

But even at -15db and with the Dolby compression on! It was still very dynamic and John Powell’s score on the closing credits was swirling the choir gives it a nice edge too.

Can you think of new techniques to get more out of the surround signal and yes I’m talking about the split-surrounds?
