I want to view this in the coming weeks with my parents. Does anyone know if it has a Blu release anywhere?
I checked the DVD Profiler database and the only disc release of "God is Where You Find it" is the 2014 Warner Archives DVD that is a part of my disc library.

I was born and raised in southeastern Connecticut and I remember those movies. However, I don't see the resemblance except for the nose.

Yeah. Maybe it has to do with these specific photos, but in the "younger", her eyebrows seem to go straight across, while in the "older", they seem to arch more. And the hair difference kinda throws things off.

This weekend's "Noir Alley" movie is "Shockproof" (1949) starring Cornel Wilde and Patricia Knight. The film was directed by Douglas Sirk and co-written by Samuel Fuller. I watched this movie for first time last November during our "Noirvember Challenge". Here are my brief thoughts. Chances are I won't watch it again, but will definitely listen to Eddie's comments.

Once again this week, I haven't seen the selection so will be eagerly awaiting watching it on the DVR.
After watching the movie again, my initial criticism of this movie still stands, but with even more conviction. I’m glad that Eddie and I share that same sentiment towards this film. Freaking Hollywood!

Yeah, that ending was the pits, but it would have been SO tragic if Fuller had had his way (I didn't want Wilde to die; Knight's machinations especially early on make her less sympathetic).

Have seen Julie many times being a Doris Day nut, but I'll watch next week not only for Eddie's comments but also to see if they have a better print of the film than what we have on DVD.

BTW, tried Shockproof on the TCM app, and it wouldn't load.

Man, I got a boatload of discs arriving today from various retailers. The problem I have is that I've been up half the night with a bout of insomnia, so I ended watching "Oppenheimer" (1980) a seven-hour mini-series that the BBC produced starring Sam Waterston as Robert Oppenheimer. Granted it wasn't the entire seven hours because I already watched three hours of it prior to this morning. Anyhow, sleepiness is finally starting to take hold, so I guess I'll crash for a while. My first inclination is to first watch "Force of Evil" or at least spot check that new Blu-ray.

Force of Evil (Blu-ray)
Nevada Smith (Blu-ray)
To Live and Die in L.A. (4K/UHD)
Hugo (4K/UHD)
Ranown Westerns: Five Films Directed by Budd Boetticher (4K/UHD)
Breathless (4K/UHD)

Robert, To Live And Die In LA is sold out everywhere and as usual Amazon underestimated the preorders. Mine would have been here today but is now August.

Amazon now is showing that Force of Evil won't be released until August 1st. Yet, I received my Blu-ray today from Target along with Nevada Smith, To Live and Die in L.A. and Hugo.

A movie I haven't seen yet.

Personally speaking, I was kind of underwhelmed by this film. Perhaps a case where the word of mouth set my expectations way too high going into the viewing. The blending of noir sensibilities in to the contemporary setting just didn't work for me in this particular instance. (There are many neo-noirs that I enjoy, but this left me 'meh'.)

- Walter.

This weekend's "Noir Alley" movie is "Julie" (1956) starring Doris Day, Louis Jourdan, Barry Sullivan and Frank Lovejoy. An MGM movie that I wouldn't exactly call a film noir. Anyhow, I haven't watched this movie since the WA DVD came out in 2011, so I'm looking forward to revisiting it and hearing Eddie's comments.
