Today, I'm going to try to watch "Rififi" again.
Actually, I'm old Plasma guy myself, Panasonic to be exact, but these LG OLED made me turn the page especially when it came to 3-D presentations my OLED surpasses my plasma 3-D displays.I thought of you, Robert, yesterday, when my son was telling me of his new purchase for his recently-bought home in Melbourne, Australia ... a 65 inch LG Oled. He watched a nature show and said the physical presence amounted to hyper-realism. And he loves the remote control .. and point-and-move wand.
I'm so old-fashioned with my old Plasma and UHD projector...... and he finds my love of physical media positively archaic!
and yet those of his same age and younger seek out vinyl records like long lost treasures!!!I thought of you, Robert, yesterday, when my son was telling me of his new purchase for his recently-bought home in Melbourne, Australia ... a 65 inch LG Oled. Eddie’s comments are verbatim to his previous comments about The Window made some years ago when it first appeared on Noir Alley. Unfortunately, this weekend’s showings were not derived from the new scan used for the WA Blu-ray.Having seen the film many times (even before I reviewed the disc), I, too, will only be watching Eddie's comments tomorrow. I'll find something else to enjoy at lunchtime.
We have exactly the same feelings about Raft and the two female leads. I haven't seen the movie in a long, long time, so I'm very excited to see it at lunchtime tomorrow.View attachment 136382
This weekend's "Noir Alley" movie is "Johnny Angel" (1945) starring George Raft, Claire Trevor, Signe Hasso and Hoagy Carmichael. It's been about three years since I watched my 2015 DVD so I'm up to watching this 79 minute movie once again. I never thought much of Raft as an actor, but I do like the two female leads in this film.

As always I loved Eddie's comments this weekend. Eddie talking about Marvin Miller brought back some images from my childhood as I remembered seeing Miller in reruns of "The Millionaire" that aired on one of the NYC stations back in the 1960s. I'm a big Claire Trevor fan ever since watching her in "Stagecoach" in my youth. What a fine actress and one of the most important film noir actresses so I appreciated some insight from Eddie about her later life.We have exactly the same feelings about Raft and the two female leads. I haven't seen the movie in a long, long time, so I'm very excited to see it at lunchtime tomorrow.
Does anyone know the reasons why TCM has not created an app to diectly access thier live programomg? Granted they were added to HBO Max, but this doesn't feature thier live feed. I cut the cable years ago, and my olny regret is that I lost TCM!!TCM's "May" Schedule:
