What was their critera for being included in the test? It was filled with almost all ~$100 players. Where are players like the Denon 1600, or universal players like the 2200/2900. Do they realize that you can buy DVD players at places other than Walmart?

No thats typical of CR, they don't do technical tests they just look at them and say they all look about the same so the cheapest ones are the best buys. Go to the bit DVD shootout if you want to really compare DVD players, they actually test with hard material and do technical measurements.
