Considering Upgrade to Denon 2807 from 3802. QUESTIONS! (1 Viewer)

I am getting impatient now to hear some multi channel uncompressed audio.

Here's my question(s):

Will I be able to run my PS3 @1080p via HDMI into the 2807, and my Xbox360 via component, also @ 1080p into the 2807 and have them BOTH output from HDMI @ 1080p to my TV? All while getting multi channel PCM from my PS3?


I think it will work for me, but I am really not clear on the 360 situation:

1080p in over component ---> 1080p out over HDMI?


Also, any weirdness with the Samsung HL-S5687W HDMI handshaking? I know there were issues with some HD-DVD players.

The denon will take component and convert it to hdmi. It will also pass 1080p on the hdmi. The only problem I see with your setup is the 1080p from the xb360. I don't believe the xb will do 1080p through component...it will do it through vga...but again not sure about component as there aren't many if any display's that would even accept 1080p through component.

The xb360 will output games at 1080p via component...just not dvd's. It will do dvd's at 1080p through vga only.

There a few displays that will take 1080p component...however I'm still not sure whether or not the denon will convert a 1080p component signal onto it's hdmi output.
