The common thread is they’re all Sony. One from each decade? Obviously- but far from the best of that decade as this set leaves much to be desired. Having said that I will buy on Black Friday or whatever blow out sale it lands on.

Debating this at the great sale price, but I have It Happened One Night and Last Picture Show on Criterion Blu-ray, Annie sucks, and I don't really see To Sir with Love or As Good As It Gets being titles I'd rewatch often. Really hard to jusify buying the whole box just for Here to Eternity.

The Last Picture Show gets a major upgrade in picture quality through a new remaster from the OCN. IIRC the stand-alone Criterion of Last Picture Show wasn't from the OCN.

A bonus feature included in the back of the book of essays is a new HD version of the 1979 miniseries From Here to Eternity. I actually liked this miniseries almost as much as the movie. A somewhat different and much more detailed take on the story. The pq of the miniseries I'd say is a B+ overall, and better than it's ever looked before for sure.

Included also is the bonus feature movie You Can't Run Away From It, which is a CinemaScope remake of It Happened One Night with Jack Lemmon and June Allyson. The original is better, but this one I found amusing and fun, and the pq of the new HD master is really good.

There are other bonus features and movies as well. Anyway, might be worth it for you for $72, which is a bargain.

I appreciate that info, but wound up passing on it. Spent too much money on other Christmas presents yesterday.

Of these big collections, the one I would jump at if it hit the right price is the Sony Pictures Classics box.

I'm giving away my 4k copy of the original theatrical cut if you have any interest.

It seems that this set isn't selling as well as the first two. At least that's my perception.

Any speculation on Volume 4 ? Will there even be a Volume 4? I would like "Funny Girl" to finally come to 4K but there is little love for Streisand in 4K though "The Way We Were" is supposed to be coming in the Fall though it has not been officially announced yet.
