Classic DVD50S Problem!!Help me!! (1 Viewer)

I know I'm a cheap a$$, but I bought a Classic DVD50S DVD player about a year ago. I dont have a warrenty on it. Recently it wont let me play dvd's on it. i load a dvd in, and then it says error message "no Disc". while it says it's loading it makes these weird ticking sound. i tried cleaning the lens and such. the odd part is that it will play music cd's but not dvds. thanks.

The laser isn't tracking right anymore. It's harder to track a DVD than it is a CD, so it's not unusual for a player to still play CD's OK even when it can't play DVD's. You could get it fixed, but in all honesty I think the cost of repair on a Classic player will cost more than the player itself. If it were me I'd buy another player and keep the Classic as a DVD player only, or toss it.
