Cable hdtv vs satellite? (1 Viewer)

Wow,

I was just going to start a new thread on this very topic. Here's my problem. A buddy of mine just got Comcast cable HD and it looks friggin amazing. On top of that, it really isn't that much more to get it. You have to rent the digital converter ($5 bucks) and pay a couple bucks more than you were payin I'm pretty much sold so I have to go buy an HDTV.

But, I have Dish Network right now. The only thing you can do is BUY their receiver which is priced absurdly at like $500 bucks. Come on! Plus your rates will go up. What the?

So at this point, I'm strongly leaning toward Comcast.

I think the trade off with the satellite would be the better picture quality for everything else. When I watch sunday football on my big screen it looks horrid. But on my 36" it looks quite clear. One day I may have to connect a regular antenna to my big screen to see how it looks.
