I need help buying my first DVD player. I am looking at a changer at around $300 to $400 CDN that plays mp3’s. I am considering either the Panasonic DVD-CV52 or the Sony DVP-C615. I’ll be using composite video inputs (TV sucks) so progressive scan isn’t needed. Does anybody have any suggestions or comments about the two players mentioned? The player will be hooked up to a Sony STR-DE975 receiver.

Adam, if you are not looking for Progressive scan and can live without a changer, I would recommend checking out the Panasonic DVD-RA60 available at www.6ave.com for $117 plus shipping. I just picked one of these up from them on closeout, and it does play MP3s as well as DVD Audio which is an added bonus if you ever want to get into that format.
