I have 1 extra 90watt x2 channel JBL amp, and 1 set of JBL S38 bookshelfs.

I have the idea of putting the bookshelfs and amp in my car for fun, but I have never heard of people using home theater equiptment in a car audio environment.

The speakers are 8 ohm so the resistance is higher than my usual 4 ohm speakers I use. That seems to be the only difference.

Do I risk damaging anything if I use home theater bookshelfs in my car?

I'm not gonna risk it, I don't know what wattage my speakers would get due to the 8 ohm impedance. I would probably risk damaging them due to the low watts.
