And if you did buy the PE amp, just request them to disable the bass boost and they'll do it for free.

Can someone explain about the bass boost on the PE amp. Why in the first place is it setup like that, I assume the negative to it is the hump in output you will see at the 35 Hz region. Is there any positive to it ?

Equalization is often used to get flatter response/more extension in a sealed sub. It does, of course, cost you headroom though.

I'm not exactly sure how you would disable the boost on this amp since the back is sealed. I'll have to double-check the one I have at home but it doesn't appear that the back is removable.

Thanks Jeff. Brian had my heart sank there for a moment. I'm trying to get a freind and my parents a 18-20hz tune 120L 12"DVC powered by one of those. I was counting on being able to disable the boost.
