Behringer indicates clipping? (1 Viewer)

My sub configuration is a SVS CS-Ultra sub with a Crown K1 (500 watts) amp and a BFD. I noticed on portions of movies that have a lot of bass (impact) my BFD will indicate clipping (red light on meter) while my Crown amp doesn't. Which indicator is correct?

I think the BFD is clipping but not the amp, I think the signal is too much for the BFD and can't EQ properly IMO (I am by NO means an expert, I just remember reading somehting about this in the manual).

So, turn down the gain on the output of your pre-amp/receiver and turn up the gain on your amp. Each component in your system can clip at different points. The trick is to setup the system so that no single part starts clipping or distorting before another.

try the +4dBU setting. This will keep the BFD from clipping.
