I am not worried at all. If anything is cut, I seriously doubt that it would be more than some background music in some odd episode. As for TimeLife, check the comments about the Carol Burnett sets.

I wish they would include the IN COLOR bumper at the beginning of episodes, the "Next Week's Villain" bumper at the end, and the original 20th Century Fox closing logo (they can put a WB one on after that, as long as the original version of the FOX logo is there.) Unfortunately, even if the FOX logo is there, it will probably be an updated one. And we can most likely forget the ABC bumpers at the start and end. Just dreaming here!

I went ahead and pre-ordered using the link in this thread. I think it's too pricey, but why not? It can drop in price before then, or if not, I'll cancel it just before release. I'm hoping it drops to about $140 or less.

Guys, thanks for using our links and supporting HTF.

    Also...

Again, it's absolutely too premature to speculate that
Warner is making edit and music replacements to this
show. Despite their alleged track record, we don't know
anything about what has or has not been done to the
    upcoming Batman TV release.

I wonder if Fox is starting to regreting letting WB handle this release now

    Andrew,

The licensing issues were such a mess. I would bet, in the
end, Warner had the upper hand as far as licensing rights are
concerned. This is only speculation. I do know that Fox very
much wanted to release this set.

I simply want to know if the set is complete. I don't think that's too much to ask for given this is only three seasons of a 30 minute show costing me $200+.

    Alan,

    Completely understand.

We will have to wait for the press release, and even then, the studio may
or may not be forthcoming about it.

If I were Warner, releasing this set, I would be certain that press release
doesn't leave fans with any questions whatsoever about the contents of what
    they are purchasing.

All this on-line frothing at the mouth has got to Stop!!!
How about waiting for some evidence before you spew your, marginally, informed opinions (read: speculations).
It's just the classic Adam West/Burt Ward 1966 Batman TV series, for goodness sake!!
    Holy stream of consciousness, Batman.
Did I just say all that out loud?
Who am I to spoil all the fun?
BTW- already placed my order with Amazon.

I keep seeing people mention the high price for only 3 seasons but those 3 seasons are 120 episodes, which would equal about 5 seasons of a show now and even back then was a lot!

I just pulled the trigger. There's plenty of time to cancel if my mind changes, but $189 for 120 episodes (and I already own Batman: The Movie)...why not?

I bet the DVDs will be on sale at or less than $100 for some holiday sale etc.

    I have to be honest.

I am not biting at that price until it drops.

I understand the pricing, but I am going to wait a few months on this.

The more people that hold off on initially pre-ordering at this price might bode well for encouraging Amazon to dig deeper and lower the price even more before release date. I believe Amazon has it at a 30% discount from MSRP at this time, which they might hold to if enough pre-order at this price. To get them to go closer to 50% would take poor pre-order sales.

My take is to hold off. Whether finding it at Costco later or a "black" Friday sale, this should be a big seller as we get close to Christmas,

Brad,Agreed. I'm holding off as well. I'll be waiting for the eventual individual season sets, so my wait will most likely be longer.

    I don't think that's prohibitively expensive.

Breaking Bad is $161 for 62 episodes ($2.60 per episode)
The Sopranos is $196 on preorder for 86 episodes ($2.27 per episode)

Batman is $188 for 120 episodes ($1.57 per episode)

Now you can make the argument Batman is a half hour vs. an hour per episode...which would make $188 for 60 episodes ($3.13 per episode). That's still not terrible. We certainly paid a whole lot more back in the DVD days for lesser quality ($100 per 26 episode season for various Trek's and X Files, for example).

    Jason,

    Appreciate the breakdown of price.

I understand the value. Not criticizing Warner.

    However...

Firstly, we live in the age of Amazon where everything comes down
in price. I could have jumped on the Rodgers & Hammerstein collection
at $150. A week ago I got it for $50.

Batman: The Complete Series will drop substantially in the months that follow.

Secondly, it's quarter four. We all will have a wealth of preordered
Blu-ray product arriving between October - December. To spend
nearly $200 on a single release, on top of all the smaller releases, is
just a bit much to bite on.

I wish I could jump at that price. Just going to sit it out awhile.

Actually, I have already set my desired price: $100

Mind you, I don't think that's what the set is worth, but that is what
I am willing to pay for it as long as I wait.

I bet yuh it can be had at that price within a year post release date.

I get all of that, Ron. But really, with everything else coming out and happening at the end of the year, I'd kick myself in the butt if I forgot to keep watching the price and order when it comes down. This way, I know it's ordered and I can cancel if I want the week before instead of having to remember to order at that time or watch the prices.

Right now, this is my only announced November release (according to my Google calendar, anyway).
