I'm going to put a home theater in a new home that I'm currently building. Going to build a room within a room. I was planning on using Auralex' Sheetblok Sound Barrier
http://www.auralex.com/sound_isolati..._sheetblok.asp
on the outer room walls, ceiling and floor. The web site says it is more effective than lead at stopping the tramsnission of sound. Found out it costs $325 for a 4' by 30' roll. My original plans would therefore cost me about $5000.
Sometimes a standard product that is sold for other purposes, is given a fancy name and a high mark-up and is then sold as a specialty item. Does anyone know if this stuff is sold elsewhere for less money?
Thanks for your help. Bill
