I've got a Toshiba DVD player hooked into a Kenwood HTB-504 and I was wondering if there's a easy or cheap way to add karaoke capability (using karaoke DVD's). My DVD player has only OUT S-video, component, optical, and coaxial. I'm currently using S-video and optical OUTS and connecting them to my HTB-504 receiver. I know it'd probably be easier to just buy a new DVD player with built-in microphone jacks, but I'd rather stick to my current DVD player if possible.

Someone mentioned using a mixer, what would this entail exactly? Does the mixer accept optical or coaxial IN/OUT's?

Thanks!

you'd have to hook it up via the analog outputs, no matter what, which is what a mixer uses too
