Looking to purchase a "greatest hits" CD. There seem to be several choices. Wondering which release has the best remaster.
What would you recommend?
Thanks!

I went with "What's That Sound? Complete Albums Collection":

It was the most cost effective and ensured there'd not be that single "great" track that wasn't on a GH collection (something I seem to encounter far too often). It also has the mono and single versions of the albums which got both releases.

That's the one I have -- had the vinyl at one time, too.

I took a couple of quick photos of that set:

The 5 discs are housed in a very nice, sturdy, outer clamshell type paperboard box. There's a insert with album info (separate piece of thin cardboard laying inside the right side of the box). That sticker on the left side is from the outer shrink - I pulled it off and stuck it inside the box. Each disc has a separate cardboard sleeve (they're nice and smooth), the stereo ones have that classic stereo banner on the front, and the 3rd release has a gatefold style sleeve like with the original release.

Back of everything showing the front/back of the box and the backs of the first 2 discs and inside the gatefold of the 3rd. They all replicate the original vinyl releases.

Neil Young supervised the remixes so they're very accurate and sound very good. It's a very nice set.

I have Retrospective - The Best of Buffalo Springfield, too. I love my memories of UC Berkeley in the late 1960s/early 1970s!!! :)

I have the "What's That Sound?" set in hires and it sounds amazing.
If you have a record player and can find it, the compilation "Buffalo Springfield" from the 70s is worth a recommend. Has some deeper cuts than the standard "Retrospective" and a 9minute version of "Bluebird" that is yet to show up anywhere else. I don;t think it ever made it to CD and Neil seems to have forgotten about it as far as his archives project goes, probably due to the band having nothing to do with it.
