Before anyone goes "WTF?!?!?" I mean my wienerdog "Buffy" who today won the Wienerschnitzel Bay Area dachshund races! She won all 3 races and came in first! $250, a bunch of treats and now we have an all expense paid trip to the Nationals in San Diego during the Holiday Bowl festivities! If Buffy wins, (and she is HELLA-fast..!) me, the fiancee and Buff will represent Wienerschnitzel on their float in the parade!!! Woo-hoo!!!!

Thanks guys! She made our month today. There were about 65 doxies racing and she came in 1st. Won all 3 races. We totally became stage parents like in "Best In Show"! Now we gotta start the Rocky training!

My family has gone to the dauchs. An aunt is a breeder and has provided my parents and a sister with several mini-dauchsunds. Most recently, my mom & dad got a new black and tan long-hair.

The other current dog, Mindy, has no faired so well at the weiner dog races. She gets distracted and starts playing with the other dogs.

Since you seem to know your way around the long-haired daschunds, Dave....does it look like there's some of that in this mutt o'mine? We actually saved her through a Cocker Spaniel organization and have figured she might be some kind of cocker spaniel/Daschund mix...or dare I say cocker/weiner mix?!?!

Sorry you can't see her body shape better in this particular photo...but it's the only one I've got ready to go on-line at this moment.

Buffy is technically a long-haired doxie but she might have had a parent who is a smoothy. She is black and tan/brindle.
Once you get a wiener, you are wiener people for life!

That can be a good mix, giving the dog the affectionate traits of the long-hairs, plus some of the playful zest of the short-hairs.
