I'm new to HT. I'm looking to upgrade my current system w/o spending alot of money. Due to previous space constraints, I used the Sony DAV300, but now I have the space to use my old system or upgrade. Any suggestions? These are power hungry speakers.

Current System:

JVC RX-778VBK Receiver
JVC XV-M555 DVD
Cerwin Vega D-5's (11 years old)
Cerwin Vega D-1's (11 years old)
Cerwin Vega LS-6C (Center)
Cerwin Vega LW-10 (sub)

Cerwin Vega's are NOT power hungry. I run RE-30's as mains...and have a CV center and surrounds, and let me tell you..they sound awesome!! I wouldn't trade mine for anything. I have mine connected to a Sherwood 6801 and I couldn't be happier. ;)

I have some Re30's on my old system, they are 4 ohm speakers and can put a heavy load on a recevier when cranked, not sure about the D models you have.

Anyway, it's all about the benjamins......how much you got to spend?
