For those who found Guess Who's Coming to Dinner a bit tame, or the social morality a bit old-fashioned, possibly Ian Kessner's Lost After Dark is more your speed.
Shot on location in Ontario, Canada, it's a perfect '80s slasher film.
Except that it was produced in 2014.
The interesting thing is, it actually does a very good job of conjuring up all of those old cinema memories.
And for those who love film, and by that, I mean the acetate and later, polyester strips, which contain all those little pictures, there's a loving homage to the stuff.
Though shot on a Red, the film has the look of film, and all's well.
Lost After Dark is a fun ride back to the wonderful '80s. The perfect hand-holding, date movie.
I liked it, as it did what it set out to do, stylishly.
