Frank LaLoggia's Lady in White, is a wonderful ghost story, that captured my imagination upon its release in 1987.
It's decidedly low-budget. It's effects are basic and obvious, but it has a real kick to it, with a superb performance by young Lukas Haas.
Finally, we have a proper Blu-ray release, courtesy of MGM via Scream Factory, and it's worthy of your attention.
Those who've never seen this classic are best to grab a copy, while it's in print.
A lovely rendition of the film, with nary a problem in sight.
The effects are what they've always been. There is always the question, once we enter the digital domain...
Do we fix the effects, and make them more transparent for a modern audience?
The HD transfer actually makes them more obvious than they were on screen, but it's all fine. My advice? Live with it.
And enjoy the film.
