if that thing isn't street legal, it's not really a "car", in the common sense of the word. anyone who drives one of these who gets hit by anything larger than a small SUV would be in pain. it weighs 850 lbs, which would make it a really stylish coffin.

The way gas prices are going, there might not be too many suvees to worry about in the future so it might be safer later on.

If it can't get me over a 4 ft. snowbank at the end of my driveway or through 2 ft of snow in a blinding blizzard, I'll stick with my Jeep. Plus, I doubt the top comes off and it would be really lousy driving it on a beach.
