if that thing isn't street legal, it's not really a "car", in the common sense of the word. anyone who drives one of these who gets hit by anything larger than a small SUV would be in pain. it weighs 850 lbs, which would make it a really stylish coffin.
These days, the most effective way to make a safe car involves the attachment of lead weights. Once upon a time, we cared about crashboxes and safety cages, and airbags. But now? Pshaw.
If it can't get me over a 4 ft. snowbank at the end of my driveway or through 2 ft of snow in a blinding blizzard, I'll stick with my Jeep. Plus, I doubt the top comes off and it would be really lousy driving it on a beach.
