I just had one of those annoying conversations with a coworker where the think they know everything about everything and are always right. Anyway, he stated he has this great samsung dvd player (probably the 841 - he didn't know) that plays the dvd's that are encoded @ 720P. My response was...
I have Comcast w/HD and am in the Northeast (CT). So far I am very happy with the digital channels and the HD channels. The only negative is the higher cost vs. sattalite. If I drop Comcast for sat, my Internet cost goes up. I also had some problems with the box freezing, and not getting...
I asked this same question about a month ago and was told to avoid this player like the plague. I saw one at my local Best Buy and while I realize players under $200 dont seem to weigh very much, this one felt like a feather and seemed to be poorly constructed. I would look at the Sony...
I was hoping someone had some details on the above mentioned dvd player. It is a freebie I am getting for buying a panasonic dvd camcorder but I cant find any details or specs about the player, even on the panasonic website. I know this isn't going to be anything special, I was just curious...
Getting the Panasonic PT-50DL54 which has " Progressive Scan Doubler (enhanced)". What exactly does this mean? Also, how will this tv handle a) a basic progressive scan dvd player connected via component, b) an upconverting progressive scan dvd player connected via component, c) both a & b...
sorry didn't realize the panny s97 had hdmi, but i cant find it anywhere. any othe suggestions for hdmi players in addition to my question above about hdmi in general would be greatly appreciated
Thanks for the info. I actually just found out that toshiba recalled the unit. Can you or anyone recommend a player that has an hdmi output connector for under $300. Also, should I be concerned about getting hdmi output. To be honest, my current setup of a Panny 53wx52 looks beautiful with hd...
I am planning on purchasing my father some new toys for his new condo. We have pretty much decided on the Panasonic PT-50DL54 and were looking for a DVD player to go with it. I am considering the Toshiba Toshiba SD-5970. Anyone have this yet. I know nothing about the player except that it has a...
I know nothing about high end speakers, but I have been looking at these and trying to find the dough. They seem to offer pretty good bang for the buck. http://www.axiomaudio.com/epic50.html
I just rearranged my Home Theater and am now finding that I need to place my sub (polk sw-350) in an out of the way place which is next to my couch about 7-8 feet distant from the screen. Are there any negatives to placing the sub in such a location? I searched the forum and couldn't find...
I am no expert on this subject but I just purchased 2 of the Iriver iFP-190T 256MB for my kids so I have some experience with these types of devices. First the answers to your questions: 1. Radio works great. No different than any other portable radio. 2. Depends on the length of the songs...
Well, I replaced the box. The pixelation on the HD channels is gone but the lip sync problem is still there but as Matt sait it is hit or miss. I guess I will live with it. Also, On-Demand is cool. I thought all on-demand was an extra charge. Actually most of the on-demand is free. The only...
I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the lip sync problem on a sattelite system. I am also glad to hear I am not imagining this problem. Thanks
Be careful about buying pre-viewed at Blockbuster. I've only bought 2 there (Finding nemo, The Core). The finding nemo was the widescreen 2 disc collectors edition. When I got home, there was only disk 1 inside. Back to the store, they made some lame excuse that all BB's separate that movie...
Thanks for the responses guys. I will let you know how I make out with the new box after I get it. Chester - I am seriously considering it and may finally pull the plug if the new box does not resolve the issue. Thanks Again
Just got a comcast HD box here in CT and I noticed a weird problem. On all of the HD channels, there is a voice sync problem. In other words, the mouths move before the sound comes out like if your watching an old godzilla movie and the english was dubbed over the japaneese. Again this only...
Just wanted to get some comments and suggestions on this 4 room system and the hardware that is included in the 2dvr & 2hd package. http://www.allsat.com/hardware/811s.shtml Thanks, Steve
I just sent my RP-82 back to crutchfield to get the same problem fixed and they were unable to get the motor from panasonic so they sent me the Denon-910. I like it but I miss my RP-82.
Ill try to be breif. 1 - RP82 gets H02 error after 7 months 2 - Send back to crutchfield for repair (they charge me 60 for labor) 3 - Got Panasonic to reimburse me the 60. 4 - 2 months later crutchfield admits they cant get spindle motor to do the repair. 5 - I get them to send me a Denon...
Just curious if anyone can tell what is the latest equivalent (hardware wise) of the RP-82. The reason I am asking is that I have now sent my RP-82 (suffering the "H02" problem) back to crutchfield for repair twice at their expense and they have yet to sucessfully fix it. If it comes back again...
Yeah my POS RP-82 is in the shop for the "H02" problem so I picked up an Apex AD-2600 from amazon for 49.99 with free shipping and a 10 dollar rebate. Cant complain for the price and the thing has played everything I threw at it and the PQ is more than acceptable. At least if it stops working in...
As much as I like (or did like panasonic) as I own the 53wx42 and a panny vcr, in addition to the RP-82, my reccomendation would be to stay away. I have had the rp-82 for 8 months when it developed the "H02" error which many of the panasonic dvd players have this problem. Do a search on "H02"...
Just got the H02 error message on my RP-82 I bought from Crutchfield. I will have to pay for the labor to repair it. Can someone recommend a replacement that is an equivalent of this model? Thanks, Steve
I just read this entire post and while I know nothing about the set you are having trouble with or the company, from a purely customer service standpoint, they should give you a brand new set that is equivalent or better than the one you bought. If that means eating the $250 and giving you the...
