Not to throw in competition, but definately check out Hoopers if you go to Birmingham...that's where I got all my gear and the sales rep, Todd Katz, was a great help on equipment and pricing as well. Definately recommendable.

Isn't he out in California somewhere? Prolly cost me out the ears to have him come all the way to Montgomery, Alabama just to do a calibration...although I am sure it would be worth it though. Maybe he can help me set up those "Bass Shakers" I'm looking into getting. Thanks for the info. ~Jay

I kinda thought it was in jest, but I am so new here and to the world of HT that I wasn't really sure. I've only been able to educate myself on the things I was looking to buy in the first place. Now I am looking into some "bass shakers" that CraigM posted about over on The SPoT.

Actually...after checking with the sales guy, he confirmed that I was sold the 3800 model on the Denon DVD player. Not that it'll beat out the Elite, but for what the two can do and what I have...it's good enough for me.

Correction....I just talked to the sales guy I bought all my stuff from and he did sell me the Denon DVD-3800. They didn't have it in stock nor did they have any reading material on it as well so he gave us the 2800 flyer instead...hence my confusion. Sorry about that.

Well, where I bought it from does calibrations as well, though they aren't anywhere near certified by ISF. I'll give them a call here soon and see what i can find out.

I just bought mine. Like...literally, just got back from the dealer about 5 hours ago. Here's what I got: BP3000TL (2) C/R/L3000 BPVX/P (2) I may get a smaller set of rears and place them in or on the ceiling...I dunno, something I'll have to try out...see what kind of effect it gives.

Oh yeah, and I did get cables....$125 high-end component cables.
