I picked up 47A last Wed. Previously had a 37 and the picture on the 47A was equal to the 37. Main player is a Kenwood 5700 and there is no comparison between the two(knew that when I got the 47A). Dvd-a and sacd sounded good especially in 2 channel. Hotel California for dvd-a was very good...
Online says discontinued but local store has 5. My question is how many do I need for dvd-a and sacd into a receiver? From what I gather the rs switches are 2 in, 1 out. I am confused!
How well do the ref 100's handle bass? Running ref 60's and a pw 2200 right now. Wondering if moving 60's to rears and purchasing the 100's as mains would work(parting with the 2200 for now, because of room constraints)?
thanks
I have a 1200, used amp power with monitor 7 fronts, 350 center and mini rears. Unfortunately listened to ref 60's one day and ended up with 60's for fronts, cc center and adp's for rears. 1200 just didn't have the extra umph needed so added an anthem mca-2 for fronts and mca-3 for center and...
What I meant when I said "wire" was going with a much higher quality speaker wire than I had used in the past. What I noticed was a fullness and sharper detail than before.
I run slate's bi-wired to the fronts(ref 60's and cc center). I really didn't realize the difference the wire made. I had always bi-wired but going to the slates really made a difference.
Brand new in box $1499. Already have mca-3 and mca-2 but need a good pre/pro. For the sake of spouse does the avm-2 have a 5 channel option for regular tv broadcast? She loves the feature on our yam1200.
I have been through an Elite 37, great picture, great audio but no dvd-a, and a Elite c-36, progressive scan nice look but no dvd-a. My problem is the Elite 47 is supposed to be out next month. Progressive and dvd-a and sacd all in one. The only problem $1200 list which will still put it over...
Have a yam 1200 at the moment. Running an Anthem MCA3 through fronts and centers. What receivers would allow the unused power to transfer to the rears? I know the yamaha doesn't and there may not be one but just thought I would check?
thanks
Is anyone using Ref 20's all the way around for HT? My lovely wife doesn't like the size of the Ref 60's. How would the 20's do using a yam 1200 for processing and an anthem mc3 for power to the fronts and center, I do get to keep the cc center and we are using a 2200 sub. Will there be a big...
my 5109 is growing old and its time to replace. Have a mits 46805 and from what I gather the rp91 can adjust ratio on anamorphic dvd. Does the rp91 suffer from the bug? I have been told the elite does. Any other major problems with each unit? Price difference is minor, so give me your best...
Local Paradigm dealer does not favor 40's, he says by the time you add stands you might as well by 60's. The only problem with the 60's is the size. We are trying to get away from the closed look that floor standing speakers have, sitting next to a mits 46805 and the equipment rack next to it.
that is what I would like to do but actually I have been overruled by the better half. Local dealer loaned me a pair of ref 60's and wife has actually commented on them, and they are not broken in yet. Should I upgrade the sub, the pdr 10 is good but would a 2200 be that much better?
System now consists of mon 7's v-1, cc350, mini's and pdr10, receiver is yam 1200. Considering replacing 7's with ref 20's, cc center and a pw 2200 and keeping mini's for rears. System is used mainly for HT(80%). Would this configuration work?
thanks
