I added a rear center and it has added more depth to the surround. This is a very recent addition :) and have not yet got time to listen to 6.1 encoded DVDs yet. LOTR and T2 (Special Edition) have this I think. My HT room is fairly large (18x22) and so that might have helped. I am a...
Thanks for the heads up, John. I guess I will use my current surge suppressor for the sub temporarily and buy something like the Max 2 Sub. Thanks Srinivas
I bought a Monster 3500 MKII Powercenter. Have not hooked up yet but had a question regarding subwoofer. My sub (Mirage S12) is to the back of the room with a 25' subwoofer cable. Should I run a long powercord extension to the Powercenter or should I just plug it into another surge protector at...
Thanks Tom. Here is what I tried and noticed With no input connected, the hum is a little less than with the input connected but not much. With input connected, if I set it to auto and slowly turn up the level, when it reaches about 3/4, it turns on as if it detected an input(the...
Hi Eddie, I also bought a S12 at vanns. Got it just 2 days back. For some reason, my sub makes a humming sound when connected to the power and turned on, even if no input is connected. It increases if I increase the volume. I tried different outlets in my house, same problem. Do you have any...
If it is not under warranty, I would say open it up and do a little cleanup before taking to a shop. May be some loose strand of wire somehow got in there.
Is it the same case with Dish Network PVRs ? I was considering getting a Dish Network receiver with PVR functions, but say, after one year I switch back to cable, is my PVR useless ? Thanks for all the replies.
I dont have direct TV but can this be used to record shows from regular cable ? I like to record late night shows(Jay Leno) and watch it in the morning. Or do I need a direct TV and Tivo service for it ?. Its a great deal for $50. http://www.circuitcity.com/detail.jsp?b=g&oid=61469 THanks
This is for somebody I know. He ordered a Hitachi SX5600W. And now comparing this to a InFocus 5700, he is in a dilemma whether to cancel the Hitachi and get the InFocus or not. This projector will be used for computer presentations as well as movies but mostly computer. So which one of them...
Thanks ! That helps a lot. If the price difference is not much, I can probably buy the Cinema Series(I like the appearance - I saw it on their web site - I hav to go see the difference at a local store).
Toshiba has a Cinema Series and a Theaterwide series listed separately on their web site with model nbr 65H83 and 65HX83. From the specs, I noticed 2 main differences (some audio differences but I dont care). What is the main difference and advantaeg/disadvantage of these two series? Cinema...
I have been collecting some info on this and this is from Neil Joseph from this thread http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htfo...hreadid=149281 A suggested minimum would be.... - RGBHV (5 composite cables basically for HDef) - Component (3 composite cables) - S-video - composite video...
I never felt it was rude in anyway. After reading your post, I also found the thread for the X1 deal but its too late now. I am leaning towards a front projector after reading some reviews and seeing some home theaters. Looks like I can go with a DIY screen and setup a decent video system for...
I have to add mounting kit and screen costs to it. Plus, from what some salesmen told me, the bulbs could burn out in a year or two(depending on projector) and that would mean, added cost of $300 to $400 every year or other year. So if I get a projector that is cheap compared to a rear...
My new house is almost nearing completion. The dry walling will be next week and in the last minute, the builder gave the option to add my own speaker wiring. I will have a 2 day window next week - so please respond ASAP. Here is the house plan...

And the Lite-Ons have the best DAE speeds if you want to use it in a PC with a CD-RW to copy/rip CDs. Over 30x DAE in a DVD-ROM , I think the only one its kind.

One of the review says that it makes a lot of COASTERS (just like my HP CD Recorder(PC)).
DVD Coasters ? - my coffee or beer wouldn't taste that good on it :D
I bought a ECS K7S5A. Has on-board sound and LAN but no video. You can get it for around $65. It had very good reviews on different sites. Just search google for 'ECS k7S5A'. Supports DDR and SDRAM upto 2 GB. I think they have a K7S6A now (www.ecsusa.com). I have a Athlon 900 and 512MB RAM. Very...
Check out the Canon ZR-45MC MINI-DV CAMCORDER. Buydig has it for $516. My friend has the previous version of it - ZR25. Its very handy and has almost all of the usual stuff. I remember reading about a JVC around $800 that has progressive scan. I don't remember if it was in PC Magazine or Sound...
Yes, the CD-R is reusable - well, usable because it has not been used. When testing, the software just simulates the burn. Try using a slower burn speed. Try a different CD. If the disc is not writable, it wont even start the simulation. So could be a bad disk or too much speed.
