I've enjoyed many scores, particularily the John Barry scores. I've also enjoyed David Arnold's scores as I feel he's the best other than Barry. My favortie Bond score is ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE. Wondering what your opinions are?

Best? I don't know, but my FAVORITE is George Martin's score for LIVE AND LET DIE. Also my favorite Bond song.

I think that David Arnold definitely loves the classic bond sound. You can hear it throughout his scores. I hope they keep him for a long time!

Here are my awards for the Bond Scores:

Best Classic Score/Song: Goldfinger (this movie would get an NC-17 if it came out today)

Best Song: Live and Let Die/The Spy who Loved Me (tie)
Both of these songs were just great. Two rock legends.

Best on the UC (Unintentional Comedy) Scale: Goldeneye
I just can't tell the difference between the Goldeneye and Austin Powers songs

The SLASC (Sounds like a Screaming Cat) award: Tomorrow Never Dies
Every time I see this movie now, I expect Howie Long to come in and clotheline Pierce Brosnan

The ALTMD (A little too much disco) award: Moonraker

The ultimate 80's capsule: For your eyes only
SHEENA EASTON! SHEENA EASTON!

The PCITMPDLHS(Psycho Chick in the movie, please don't let her sing) award: A View to a Kill

The TSFABGSWHHSTS(Too sluttly for a bond girl, so we had her sing the song) award: Die Another Day

My favorite is a bit of a surprise: Barry's From Russia With Love score. Even though the theme song is a bit bland (which was played at the end, not over the opening credits), Barry's score is great!
After that, I really like his score for Thunderball next and then the score for Goldfinger.
As for theme song, I think Goldfinger is still the gold standard (forgive the pun), with Live and Let Die placing second.
BTW, I heard the dance version of Madonna's new Bond song... I thought it was awful. (Hopefully, the non-dance version is better and the only one we'll hear in the film.)

Chung I have no idea what you were on about in that post, but it was entertaining.;)
BTW Moonraker had a rich symphonic score by the great John Barry, maybe you meant The Spy Who Loved Me, with the infamous Bond'77 theme?

Well, my favorite is Diamonds Are Forever. As a matter of fact, I picked this one up today. I think that it is very underrated. I like Moonraker, especially the Centifuge and Corrine Put Down track...so haunting. Oh, sorry to burst your bubble DonMac...but the dance version is the one that will be playing over the movie.

I am (surprisingly) rather fond of David Arnold's work, especially on the opening boat chase in TWINE. the BMW chase in TND is pretty good too. I suppose it's great for a modernised Bond score. I haven't critically listened to it against the old classics, though, so I reserve the right to change my mind... :D

I'll agree that FOR YOUR EYES ONLY is the worst of the "official" Bond scores!!

Suprisingly the song is decent thoughf!
