MGM HD is showing Force 10 From Navarone this month in 1080i in the long version with a running time of 2:06. This is another excellent WW II movie with Harrison Ford and Robert Shaw that is curently only available in a letterbox 4 x 3 format.

For show times check MGM's website.

I saw this with my dad at Gaumont screen 1 Cinerama curve.

Is the region 1 DVD Dolby 5.1 as I see on imdb says a 4-track stereo and I only see that there's a 5.1 on bluray (region A locked).

Watching on netflix late this morning in 2.35:1 HD but soundtrack is only in mono.

it is an excellent movie. if the studio would have gotten their act together we might have seen some of the original actors in the same roles. force 10 was supposed to have gregory peck and company but so many delays and time passed that the actors were to old to reprise their roles.

This would make a good double feature with HANOVER STREET. If you watch GUNS and FORCE 10 as a double feature, it's strange how different the Peck and Niven charcaters are. Plus FORCE 10 has Harrison Ford's greatest movie dialog ever:

"Shag your butts, guys! Shag your butts!"
