Well, with the movie coming out (whenever), are there any rumors or other info about pulling the Aeon Flux DVDs out of mothballs?

Yes. The basic rumor is that the entire series will be released when the movie hits theatres.

Truly? Wow. I have the one and only Aeon Flux DVD - damn MTV or whoever never released the rest of the episodes - grrrr.
Mahatma Gandhi, as you know, walked barefoot most of the time, which produced an impressive set of calluses on his feet. He also ate very little, which made him rather frail and with his odd diet, he suffered from bad breath. This made him...a super-callused fragile mystic hexed by halitosis.

Gamesh....

So TvShowsonDVD posted on 07/02 that we'd see Aeon Flux released on 10/04. Is that still true?

http://www.tvshowson...cfm?NewsID=3630

The movie comes out some time in December, and the trailer looks promising. But I'd love to have the entire animated version on DVD.

It's been pushed back from October. No new date mentioned yet, but I'd be shocked if they released it at a time other than the same month the new film gets released.

Great news. I watched the original airings on MTV many years ago and loved the show, but never got around to buying that collection of episodes before the DVD went out of print. It's great that the complete series is being released.

How many episodes were made?
Master Poe: Close your eyes. What do you hear?
Caine: I hear the water. I hear the birds.
Master Poe: Do you hear your own heart beat.
Caine: No.
Master Poe: Do you hear the grasshopper, which is at your feet.Caine: Old man, how is it that you hear these things?Master Poe: Young man, how is it...

In the meantime if you need a Peter Chung kinky-animation S&M fix, try out his Reign series. Futuristic retelling of Alexander the Great. It can be found relatively cheap.

I never knew they made that many episodes. It seemed like every time I watched it MTV was airing the same episodes. Posted Image

DavisDVD has the details, at long last:

Quote:
Paramount Home Entertainment will release Aeon Flux: The Complete Animated Collection on November 22nd. The three-disc set will include all ten half-hour length episodes from the series as well as original six-part shorts that aired as part of MTV's Liquid Television. All episodes will feature remastered fullscreen transfers and Dolby Digital 5.1 tracks. Extras will include commentaries with series creator Peter Chung, "The History of Aeon Flux" featurette and more. Retail is $39.99.

(Hopefully that Aeon Flux: The Movie is just a sticker and not part of an otherwise beautiful cover.

Amazon has this for preorder.

TVShowsonDVD has the larger cover (and, thankfully, that movie graphic does look like a sticker):

First Beavis and Butthead and now Aeon Flux. Hopefully The Maxx and Daria won't be too far behind.

Please MTV/Paramount bring out The Maxx, one of the greatest shows ever created.

Here's a review from DVD Town.
8 Ball gave it a 9:
Yo, Martin and Will are my boys, you know what I'm saying? They make jokes I understand. The car chase is dope! I give it a 9 but I'm still 8 Ball.

I'm working on my review. The episode order is different from the MTV air order and a note from Peter Chung explains they did some digital work (improved colors and animation effects and even providing alternate takes and versions of eps that some run longer than the MTV cuts).

Also included are a half-dozen “Aeon Flux” shorts that were aired on MTV before the animated series

Is that all of them? I'm actually more interested in this extra than the entire series.

I used to watch this series, man was it weird and oddly erotic, lots of long, wet tongue action going on. :b

I'm going to pick this up. Posted Image

BTW, nice cover, although the MTV logo inside the 'O' in AEON throws off the balance of the whole thing IMO.
