HSU 1220's in Push-Pull arrangement?

I've been told that if I took 2 HSU cylinder subs (1220's) and "tied them together" this would produce a push-pull arrangement in which distortion is reduced.

Does anyone know how this is done? Do the cylinders have to be head to head with the drivers only inches apart? Would both cylinders be in phase? If the cylinders have to be this close it would mean they would have to be placed horizontally because the cylinders are 50+ inches tall. Would any modifications have to be done to the cylinders that would entail getting into the guts of the cylinders?

What would be a "ballpark" estimate of the reduction of distortion?

This is nonsense.........

Place 2 cylinders upright side by side, that way the drivers will acoustically couple, you'll get more output.

Forget about this distortion thing. The inherent distortion in modern drivers is so low as to be inaudible. Yes it can be measured with test equipment. By the time the drivers are interacting with the room it's really a non-issue
