Push-Pull arrangement for dual HSU 1220's? (1 Viewer)

I understand that 2 HSU tubular subs can be "tied" together in a push pull arrangement that reduces distortion. How would this be set-up? Would the tubes be head to head with the drivers only inches apart? How much reduction in distortion could I expect driving the subs hard?
