second subwoofer? (1 Viewer)

If I want to add a second sub, is it just as easy as splitting the line from the sub-out on my receiver? Is that acceptable? Will that over-tax my receiver? My sub now is a Klipsch 10". I see on gotapex.com that Wharfedale subs are on sale right now. I'm considering adding a second 10" or 12" sub. Does anyone have any strong opinions about Wharfedale subs?

Thanks.

Tom

If you are using the preamp output from your receiver, your receiver isn't powering your sub, so it won't make any difference to the receiver.

Be aware that having two subs means you will need to do a little more adjustment to get them to work together properly.

I would buy a identical subwoofer, you don't want two different subwoofers...buy another Klipsch 10".

Although it's probable a single high quality sub (HSU, SVS etc) will outperform a dual Klipsch 10" system.
