IPhone TV calibration - any good? (1 Viewer)

Hello All,

I've been looking around for a calibration disk and learned that the iPhone has a couple of apps for calibration and one for 3D TVs. One of the apps is from THX. Apparently, I need an apple HDMI connector for the iPhone. Before I spend money on a cable with limited use, has anyone used these apps? Are they as good or better than buying a calibration disk? Please comment if you have any experience with these. Thanks.

I used the THX one because it worked with AirPlay with my AppleTV. It was rather simplistic. You adjust the picture settings with a test pattern (either by HDMI cable or AirPlay) and the camera--there is a contrasting image on the phone screen, and you adjust the TV until the image is consistent.

I still bought a calibration blu-ray because it handles 3D. You say there is an app that calibrates 3D? What is it?
