My new living room is smaller than my last 15' x 18' and I am looking for a narrow subwoofer for behind a couch or short one which could fit underneath a couch (8 inch clearance.) I currently have a Yamaha TSR receiver and JBL 12 Inch Sub...please help. Any recommendations? In wall may be an option, but depends on size. Thank you.

What's your budget for this project? How much bass are you looking for? Most of the slim subs are going to have a smaller driver than the 12" you're currently using.

I don't know what it is this week with the influx of people trying to fit high end gear into impossible room situations, but yeah, anything that small is going to compromise your sound. Putting it under a couch is doubly a bad idea.

Smallest subs we see that get good reviews are the SunFires.

Welcome to HTF tho!

I was thinking of that one that you linked Gene and I was also thinking of the two options to boost output. I also came across this Earthquake sub and thought about this thread. It's about twice the price of the PE unit but it may be worth it depending on performance.
