The Disclaimer Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

The Appeal

Any visitor to the Weekly RoundUp should be sure to check out the new Main Portal Page of the Home Theater Forum….FOR TWO VERY GOOD REASONS!

First: Parker & Ron have re-formatted the Portal Page to include exclusive HT industry news you won’t find in any place on the HTF! Second: You will help support the Home Theater Forum and keep it up and running.

Operating the HTF is not free for Parker and Ron. That is why there is advertising throughout the forum and there has been the occasional membership fund drive. THIS IS AN EASY WAY FOR YOU TO HELP…AND IT’S FREE OF CHARGE…AND INFORMATIVE, TOO! :D

If you simply link to the Portal Page when you start your visits to the HTF, that act alone wILL bring revenue to the forum. While it would also be nice if you wanted to click on some of the advertisers’ links and check out their deals and sales (that form of “window shopping” would bring even more revenue to the forum), the simple act of landing on the Portal Page registers a “hit” or “impression” that creates revenue for the HTF.

So, if you’ve been “sneaking in” to the HTF through links to your favorite thread or forum, please take an extra second of your time and land first on the HTF Portal Page. You’ll see the new Industry News sections AND help out financially. THANKS!

I can finally pick up Office Space, after holding off on it for so long waiting for this long-rumored SE.

Other than that, it's looking like Pete & Pete, Alvin, Ep 3, and War O' the Worlds.

As always, thanks Mike & Patrick.

Thanks as usual. A moderate week:

Brady Bunch
Star Trek: Enterprise
Revenge of the Sith

It seems unlikely that there's any picture quality improvement on The Breakfast Club, so it doesn't look like I'll be rebuying that.

Episode III is a definite and War of the Worlds (1953) a strong possibility. After a lost week, I'll see if I can hunt down the three disc Wizard of Oz set at one of the wholesale clubs as well.

Thanks guys.

DeepDiscountDVD has both The Message and Lion of the Desert for $14.99. I presume the new Anchor Bay releases are the same as the previous Anchor Bay releases.

EDIT: According to www.anchorbayentertainment.com these are both 2 disc versions, 16:9, and with director's commentary tracks. Also the list price is cheaper this time around. The originals were 1 disc versions, non-16:9, and the list price was $5 higher for The Message.

As a (probably unnecessary) reminder to Star Wars fans, Walmart will have a bonus disc, The Story of Star Wars, featuring R2-D2 and C-3PO narrating the entire series, plus additional unknown footage of some sort.

Definitely Star Wars and Office Space for me.

Didn't know about American Chopper Season 3. That's a nice price. :)

Looks like I will have to wait for the DDD sale for WrestleMania Anthology.

Fantastic. I am definetly picking up both of these. I am only baffled as to why they have not included the making of documentary for "The Message " from the first release. Also the Anchor Bay site lists the new release at 376 Min which is way off. I wonder if the Arabic version(the one with a totally diferent cast) is also included.

Quite a change after last week....

Brady Bunch 4, for sure

Office Space SE (FINALLY a WS version!)
War of the Worlds, I'll get, but no rush on them...

Still have a LOT to get through from last week!

Thanks for the prices, Mike! And you had a whole extra hour to work on the grid this Sunday! :D

SWIII and the BB Office Space gift set for me. Maybe I will price match War of the Worlds from CC with the BB ad.

The Wal-Mart bonus disc will include the 15-Web Documentaries, each running a few minutes, and a R2-D2 Beneath The Dome-style retrospective documentary. I can't speak to its quality, however.

Far be it from me to dispute this claim, but the web documentaries are on the main DVD set, itself. Wal*Mart wouldn't re-hash them on their exclusive disc...

I believe that this will turn out to be the documentary that was released just before Episode II hit theaters. R2 and C-3PO hosted a look at the history of the Skywalker family.

Thanks for the Roundup

For me this week:

ROTS (I'm on the fence on whether or not it will be worth the extra $$$ at Wal*Mart for the bonus disc)
Office Space
and since the price is so cheap, I'm thinking of a blind purchase on WOTW 1953. Would I be well advised on that?
