I personally am more than happy to support both formats right now and don't find shelling out a whopping 1k on two players to be such a huge expense. SO many people IMO waste money on trivial stuff (eating out often, booze, other vices, etc) that they could easily save on those and get this HD goodness now but hey....if they don't care then all the power to them. I personally want as much HD on disc as I can get my hands on.
Actually, I do think the article is interesting. Mossberg wields a great deal of influence and his comments show that he is not willing to suggest that either format is worth a commitment. He even suggests that staying out of the fray will shorten the conflict. His comments on the LG player reflect my disappointment in that product. While the article adds nothing new for those of us who are following the situation, it illuminates the impression that the more casual shopper is getting.
Sorry if I wasted some bits, but I didn't know which thread it fit best and I did think it rated a notice just to show that such an influential columnist has the same position many had last summer.
No apologies necessary, I spoke mainly in jest. (It just got a bit more attention because I had to explain later that I was actually reacting to your post.)
