Even if he was a jerk, I liked Ryan up until he started screwing with Jim so I'm happy to see him get busted.

The stuff with Holly thinking Kevin was mentally handicapped was very funny (especially Kevin thinking that he was going to get her). I also loved Mose and Dwight putting a racoon in her car... with an assist from Meredith. :)

I loved Amy Ryan on The Wire so I'm glad to see that it looks like she'll be around next season.Yeah, I found that to be a great Pam moment and like I said the scene from last episode will now play as a positive to me.

One thing I don't get... is I would think that Pam, having had a hint that Jim would propose, would realize that... oh... since Andy proposed, that it would have been tacky for Jim to as well.

I don't know why Angela said yes, since it was clear that she didn't want to, I guess maybe the awkwardness of the situation, though that makes it even worse for Jim.

I laughed a ton at the Kevin stuff also.

One thing though, I know Michael has been proven to be REALLY dumb so far, but I felt like that was pushing it at the end, with the whole dessert thing and then saying why doesn't Kevin go with you or whatever. I feel like even he would have understood the hint in that.

Also, the whole Jan thing stopped being funny a while ago, so I don't know why the writers decided it'd be good for him to decide to go to the class with her.

I think he is blindly clinging to the hope that he can be some sort of father to the baby that Jan is carrying, somewhat out of familiarity. In that scene where the new HR woman was hinting they should go out for dessert, Michael was so in his head about Jan and the baby that he totally missed the implication.

Of course, I was wrong about Pam, so what do I know.

Man, I'm gonna miss Toby and his gentle "I'm just trying to do my job" ways when "sparring" with Michael. One of my favorite "Toby" moments is when he showed up at Phyllis' wedding with a VERY hot date, and Michael "naturally " assumed she was an escort (when he really met her at the gym). Then, the camera cuts to Toby "interview" footage where he shyly self-congratulates himself for being able to score a great date: "All right, Toby! Yeah!" Priceless.

I love every character on this show, and I tend to prefer ANY of them to Michael (he's a great "anchor" for the show, but for me, it's all about the supporting cast). I hate for ANY of them to leave for spin-offs or whatever.

So, now that Ryan has "fallen from grace," as we all knew would happen, will he end up back at the Scranton branch under Michael's watch? Will he just be "slightly demoted" to Scranton branch manager? Will we just see small snippets of his outcome as we did last night? Next season should be great. I just wish Toby Flenderson was going to be there...

Oh, yeah, I might have fallen asleep on an episode or two during the season: what exactly is Ryan's problem with Jim?

One more thing: where was Stanley?

I always thought it was strange that Michael didn't warm up to Toby after that episode when everyone brought their kids to work. Michael really seemed to connect with Toby's daughter.

Lots of great moments in this episode.

- The dumbfounded look on Michael's face after Holly says, "Aw, you'll have to miss my orgy?"

- The mixup between Kevin and Holly. She was acting interested in him because she thought he was "slow," and he took it to mean she was "interested" and that he was going to get to bang her. I wonder if he did?

- Oscar's explanation for what Ryan did about being dishonest to the shareholders, or to put it another way: fraud. And that the real crime was the beard.

- Jan mentioning that if she was going to have several kids, Michael ought to have a shot at one of them. But she had to be selective.

- Andy foiling Jim's proposal plans by proposing to Angela, who said yes and then got back together with Dwigt later.

- Phyllis throwing the best office party ever, and the subsequent evil looks from Angela.

- Michael's "shoe money."

- Creed wondering what he does for his job. "Qua... qua... something."

Remember one of his goals in life was to have tons of kids so that he would have tons of "friends" who couldn't reject him (the ambition that made "Edward R. Meow" cringe)

I think it goes back to the episode where Ryan asks Pam to design a logo for the website, and then he asks her to go to dinner with him. She then tells Ryan that she is dating Jim.

Also there was a throwaway line about Karen asking out Ryan or something like that in email.

Basically, he is jealous of Jim.

The greatest touch about the Andy proposal last night is that, until that moment, we hadn't seen any of Andy the whole episode. 75% through it, I said "Aw, c'mon no Andy moments at all this episode?" What a huge payoff!

The whole episode was fantastic! I had a great time. There were more laughs in that one episode than in all the other episodes combined, post-strike.

You know, Stanley was basically a non factor and I was satisfied with that. I've had enough of Stanley, because after the "Did I Stutter" episode, it really put him over the top. You know, if Stanley hates working there so much, why doesn't he go get another job... then see if he can get away with doing crossword puzzles and ignoring co-workers like that. Stanley's attitude wore thin, and I know he's good enough to work someplace better if he really wants to.

Anyway, that's besides the point. I'm looking forward to next season. It's so funny. I'm due to visit NY myself in July when, theoretically, Pam will be in the same place. Not only that, but before this episode, I found a sublet listing on craigslist for a loft near Pratt Institute! Pratt Institute (where Pam will be going) is over in Brooklyn, so I wonder if they will depict her living out there or in Manhattan?

Good to see this show end on a high note.

Ryan was mad at Jim because Jim went over his head at the company talking to Ryan's boss about some new ideas or sales or something two or three episodes ago.

Pam thought Jim was going to propose because of the fireworks, when the fireworks went off and ANDY proposed, naturally she would assume she was mistaken.

Speculation on next season: Jim gets Ryan's job and heads to New York where Pam is? They could be the spin off?

Or not.

Isn't Pam's stint at Pratt for 3 months? I heard she was only going to be there during the summer, so by the time we start Season 5, she'll be back here, in theory.

It's possible she'd get an actual artistic job at that time... and if she did, someone else would have to take over for the receptionist.

......enter Ryan

My thoughts exactly. Jim being Michael's boss would open up a whole world of possibilities.

Or not. :D

Ryan's jealousy of Jim and overall jerkiness first manifested itself when he took over Jim's sales position when Jim transferred to the other branch. He made a subtle dig about Jim when he shared he was no longer a temp.

Yes, I did notice that he managed to restain himself on the "That's what she said!" He couldn't even do it in the midst of the fight with Jan at the dinner party.

It was in the post-break coda that usually ends the show. Mrs. Vance walks in on them foolin' around.
