Newbee question - just had Charter Cable hook up my HD converted box - a Motorola. It has a DVI slot so I figured I'd just run out and buy an DVI to HDMI cable. But the installers said that the DVI output on the HD box doesn't have the software installed to make that work so I need to use component cables instead. My question is whether or not I'm getting the best possible picture with this connection? I mean I'm paying for technology here that isn't exactly brand new so should I expect the DVI capability?

It depends on the tv. Many folks see absolutely no diff. betw. component and DVI. I can see a diff. on my set: component is grainier looking. But, it's STILL a dam good picture.
